Mayor of Jining City Welcomes American Guests

Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Mayor of Jining City of Shangdong Province, Zhang Zhenchuan, met with the senior management of Thornton and Leighton Asia in Jining City Guest Hall.

On the behalf of the Jining Government, Mr. Zhang warmly welcomed the guests and introduced them to the current development of the city, which has a population of 8.1 million. The mayor encouraged Thornton to build a 1,500 ton/day waste-to-energy power plant in Jining. Mr. Zhang and his team would ensure a smooth application process for Thornton with reasonable back-up resources from the city government. Michael Lin, CEO of Thornton, expressed keen interest in Mayor Zhang’s offer. The city government hosted an official welcome dinner banquet, attended by most of the city’s senior officials, for Thornton and Leighton Asia.
