Thornton Builds a Bridge between Hangzhou Municipal Government and Massachusetts

Thornton top management built a bridge for Hangzhou Municipal Government to meet with the Massachusetts Government, Massachusetts senate, Boston Municipal Government, Massachusetts Biotech Council and representatives of biotech companies in Massachusetts.

Led by Vice Mayor & Chairman C.M.Sheng of Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Area (HEDA), Hangzhou Municipal Government delegation paid a visit to Boston, Massachusetts on October 27 and October 28, 2008. Delegated by Hangzhou Municipal Government, Thornton arranged the bilateral discussion between the Hangzhou Municipal Government and relative departments of Boston and Massachusetts. The topic of the discussion was about the establishment of a Boston-Hangzhou Biotech Park in HEDA.

With Thornton’s assistance, Hangzhou Municipal Government successfully met with Therese Murray, Senate President of Massachusetts, Daniel O’Connell, Secretary of Housing and Economic Development of Massachusetts, Thomas M. Menino, Mayor of Boston, Robert K.Coughlin, President of Massachusetts Biotech Council and top management of Novartis Research Institute in Cambridge. Both sides expressed great interest in working together to establish the Boston-Hangzhou Scientific Park in HEDA.
