Thornton and CCPIT have officially entered into an agreement 06/19/2009 Thornton has officially entered into a strategic alliance agreement with the ministerial level government trade and investment agency CCPIT. This agreement will greatly expand Thornton’s business opportunities in China and abroad and will significantly narrow the gap between Chinese and foreign business leaders. The contracted cooperation includes: 1) Organize investment and trade conferences and forums in China and the United States; 2) Arranging meetings between Chinese governmental agencies and enterprises and private enterprises with United States enterprises seeking to invest in and/or do business in China and meetings between United States enterprises with Chinese governmental agencies and enterprises and private enterprises seeking to invest in and/or do business in the United States; 3) Help Chinese investment/trade delegations to visit the United States and United States investment/trade delegations to visit China; 4) Assist Chinese investors making investments in the United States and United States investors making investments in China; 5) International trade and investment advisory; and 6) Promote technology transfers between Chinese and United States enterprises. China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) is China’s largest institution for the promotion of foreign trade and investment cooperation. The aim of the CCPIT is to operate and promote foreign trade and investment, to introduce advanced foreign technologies, to conduct activities of Sino-foreign economic and technological cooperation in various forms, to promote the development of economic and trade relations between China and other countries and regions around the world, and to promote the mutual understanding and friendship between China and the rest of the world. CCPIT has 50 provincial sub-councils in each province, over 600 branch-councils and county-level international councils and almost 70,000 member companies all over China. Its reputation both at home and abroad, rich experiences in hosting business and trade forums and long-term close relationship and cooperation with local governments can actively guide Chinese local governments and companies to the international investment and communication platform.
