Thornton Met with China Mining Association 07/23/2009 Thornton met with China Mining Association on July 23rd, 2009. Mr. Michael Lin, CEO of Thornton, introduced Thornton's recent business developments in the mining sector in Brazil, Mexico and other regions as well as slag cement development of a low carbon concept in the US to Mr. YG Wang, Party Secretary & Chairman of China Mining Association. Thornton’s projects were warmly received and there was great interest shown in collaborating with Thornton on these projects. Mr. Wang gave an informative introduction of China Mining Association and provided Thornton with its current status and influence on the mining industry in China. China Mining Association is a juridical association approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China, with members ranging over the whole mining industry. The association mainly consists of domestic and overseas mining corporations (including oil fields), geological prospecting enterprises, nation-wide mining industry associations, provincial-level mining industry associations (unions), mining industry related scientific research institutes and academies, as well as the mining areas and cities. The principle of the association is to serve the mining corporations and the government, and to promote the development of mining industry, following the internal law and development process of mining industry. AI and China Mining Association will form a strategic alliance and pursue collaboration opportunities soon.
