China Railway Construction Corp. Warmly Welcomed The Visit of SLLF and Thornton

On September 18th,  Michael Lin,  Asia/China Representative of the US State Legislative Leaders Foundation and Caryn Suffredini,  Thornton COO together with their colleagues visited China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC). Hu Zhenyi, Group Vice President and Chief Economist of CRCC and Wu Xiangong, General Manager of International Affairs Department of CRCC on behalf of the company warmly welcomed the US guests.

CRCC is one of the largest and most powerful mega size multiple construction corporations in China and in the world.    It has ranked as the
252nd among the Fortune Global 500 Companies in 2009, the 4th of “the 225 largest global contractors” and the 17th of “the Top 500 Chinese Enterprises”, which marks it out as China’s largest domestic and overseas general contractor.   By the end of 2008,  CRCC’s total assets was 220.1 billion RMB, net asset 48.3 billion RMB and total value of newly signed contracts 423.1 billion RMB, among which the overseas ones 42.2 billion RMB. It has achieved revenue of 226.1 billion RMB with profit 4.6 billion RMB and taxes 8.7 billion RMB. CRCC has built approximately 1/2 China’s railways and 1/3 Chian’s highways.

Mr. Lin firstly on behalf of SLLF  thanked CRCC   for its support of the upcoming 1st  Sino-US Provincial/State Legislative Leaders Forum in November, 2009 and cordially invited CRCC’s top management to the forum hosted by SLLF. Ms. Suffredini, COO of Thornton had a constructive discussion with the top management of CRCC on the high-profile real estate development and construction projects and major bridges improvement and expansion projects in Boston, Massachusetts of the US.

Mr. Hu presented CRCC’s stance that it would always support the development of SLLF in China and will organize a delegation to attend the 1st Sino-US Provincial/State Legislative Leaders Forum.   Also,   CRCC expressed its keen interest on the real estate development and construction projects and major bridges improvement and expansion projects in Boston introduced by Thornton and hoped both sides would deepen the exploration of cooperation. CRCC is planning to send a delegation to Boston to conduct on-site projects research.
