Thornton Explored American Construction Cooperation Opportunities with CSCEC 09/22/2009 On September 22nd, James Bulger Chairman, Michael Lin CEO, and Caryn Suffredini COO, of Thornton, visited China State Construction Engineering Corp. (CSCEC), one of Fortune Global 500, and were warmly received by Chen Guocai CEO and Sean Li Vice President, of the Overseas Operations of CSCEC. CSCEC is one of the largest construction companies and the largest international general contractor in the PRC, with main business units of planning and design, project development, equipment leasing, trade, construction and facilities management. More than 75 construction projects carried out by CSCEC received the Lu Ban Award, the highest award in Chinese construction. Also 30 National Scientific and Technology Advancement Awards (for national scientific and technical progress) have been won by CSCEC, including five 1st Prize. Its subsidiary and listed company, China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited, was established in 2007, which was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2009. The IPO was the world's biggest in 2009, raising US$7.3 billion.
